Our Community Outreach Efforts

Inspired by our commitment to improve the health and quality of people’s lives worldwide, Watson also strives to fulfill its mission to support human health and welfare and the needs of the community. Following are some of the ways Watson participates in local communities by reaching out and making a difference:

• Watson Provided Aid for Hurricane Katrina Victims
  • Watson donated more than $600,000 worth of cash, brand and generic prescription drug products, as well as access to pharmaceutical products at no cost to patients in need and living in areas affected by the hurricane and have no prescription drug coverage. Watson is also working with a number of charitable organizations to provide other medically necessary products as needed.
  • Watson employees give from their hearts and their pockets by donating over $27,080 to the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Watson matches the employee efforts, dollar for dollar, bringing the total donation to $54,000.
• Watson Brought Relief to Southeast Asia Tsunami Victims
  • In early 2005, employees donated over $13,000 to the American Red Cross tsunami relief efforts.
  • Watson donates over 117,000 bottles of prescription pharmaceutical products.
• The Angel Connection – The Watson Morristown, NJ location has been involved with the Angel Connection’s Holiday Hugs drive for the last nine years. The Angel Connection is a New Jersey non-profit organization that supports families living with AIDS. In 2006, Watson donated gifts to over 100 children with ages ranging from 2 months to 17 years old.
• Book Fair – The Watson Corona, CA location holds an annual book fair with a percentage of proceeds donated to support local charities, such as The American Red Cross, Corona Regional Medical Foundation, and various local schools and community services.
• Toys For Tots – The Watson Copiague, NY location participates in the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. Each year, during the months of October, November, and December, new and unwrapped toys are collected and distributed as gifts to needy children in the surrounding community.
• Blood Drives – Several Watson locations hold an annual on-site blood drive in an effort to support the American Red Cross.
• Utah Families Foundation – Watson Salt Lake City, UT participates in this annual fundraising event; the goal of which is to assist Utah families facing crises circumstances.
